"The Rock Solid Retreat is a trainng event like no other.  First, it is specifically geared for youth workers in an urban setting.  Secondly, it is not just workshops and speakers - it is truly a "retreat" from the business of urban youth ministry.  It is a great time to get refreshed, relax, play, network and brainstorm with other youth workers who can identify with many of the issues you are dealing with.  Oh...and the workshops and speakers are excellent as well!!"

Program Information

Workshops are focused on implementing new knowledge and skills during the session.  The workshop format allows extended time to create something that is tailored to your program. 

It is characterized foremost by personal implementation (i.e. development of documentation for your program) with guidance and feedback from other participants and the facilitator and secondly, by the expert instruction that precedes and supports the implementation..

 

Main Speaker

Dr. Scott Larson is president and founder of Straight Ahead Ministries and has been a speaker and trainer to those working with at-risk youth worldwide since 1986.  Scott has authored 10 books on working effectively with troubled youth and has been a speaker to youth, parents, teachers, social workers and youth workers since 1983.
