News of the IUGM & Our Member Missions
August 1999

Excitement is building, plans are progressing and contacts are being solidified. Within the next two weeks, each participating mission will receive specific information on how to make the most of this national event in their local community.

Each IUGM member mission will soon receive a letter outlining The Great Thanksgiving Banquet, and inviting their participation.

The Great Thanksgiving Banquet will include:

  • National Media Kick-off by our Honorary Chairperson
  • National and local media releases
  • Playbook to attract the support of local Chairperson and media
  • Banners, hats, t-shirts and aprons with the Great Thanksgiving Banquet logo and the name of your mission

The power of the Great Thanksgiving Banquet is in the cooperative service of our members across the country in behalf of the homeless and poor. We are offering your mission the opportunity to project your care for the poor from the local community to national awareness.

Jesus said, "When you give a banquet, invite the poor." During the Great Thanksgiving Banquet, we will also invite the poor to hear the Gospel, to experience the love of Christ and to make a change in their lives. In each of those invitations, Christ will be glorified.
