Association of Gospel Rescue Missions 2004 District
& Track Coordinator Annual Report
By Gary Meek
Several of the Districts put together
innovative training opportunities for their Spring District Meetings
this year. The Mountain District spent the last several months communicating
with its members as they worked to share information and prayer
requests with each other. It has been a great year for the Districts
as they continue to be the relational backbone of the AGRM. The
Association’s Tracks continue to look for “cutting edge” techniques
to develop their members’ ability to minister in their Missions
and to be a resource for all AGRM members through training conferences,
resources and consulting.
This is the third
year we have received information on the American Express Foundation's
grant opportunity for organizations that offer financial education
to "underserved adult populations such as immigrants, individuals
moving from welfare to work, the newly employed, and young workers.
Grants will range from $15,000 to $30,000 for projects of 12-24
months' duration."
The grant information
is currently available as a PDF document from the AGRM website (download)
or from the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE)
website (download)
from January 7 through March 4, 2005.

Regional Training Conferences – Regional Conferences
major topics covered this year included “Principles in
Leadership/Management,” and “Board Training,” “Development/Public
Relations” and Program/Recovery.” The Regionals are intended to be a high
value, affordable event for the training of department level supervisors
and executive staff. They are designed to pay for themselves based on a
certain level of attendance.
Attendance for each of the Regional
Conferences was mixed in the 2003 Conference year.

Tracks
The Tracks are organizations within the AGRM for
individuals involved in similar types of ministry. They are designed to
promote communication and cooperation between track members at all levels;
assist others desiring help in their ministries and evaluate the needs of
its members in order to provide programs designed to help meet those
needs.
2004 Track Mid-Year
Conferences
This year, numbers were lower for most of the
Track mid-year training conferences. It is unclear if this is a one-time
phenomenon or a trend. Track training meetings continue to be one of the
best value training opportunities for those working on the front
lines.
