Short-term Urban Missions Opportunities for Groups

<body> <p>One week urban mission immersion project for junior and senior high school students who can work in New York City, Denver, the Twin Cities or Miami. These projects seek to give students an affordable and accessible mission's experience while empowering innercity and ethnic congregations. In the one week students will minister in 4 tracks, Kid's Clubs, service projects, prayer walks and sports clinics. Each evening there will be a rally for worship and training by experienced urban ministry leaders.</p> <p> Excellent opportunity for high school or adult group to minister to inner city children in a Christian camp setting for three or five day sessions. All meals and lodging provided.</p> <p> Projects: Participate in daily camp activities with children ages  8-11. Activities include swimming, crafts, bible studies, nature walks, games and much more all in a Christian environment.</p> <p> An Evangelical Covenant Church and community of 500 who live with, and serve, the needy in Chicago. Established for over 26 years, our ministries include: shelters, housing and counseling for homeless families, the elderly, children's programs, and music ministries. </p> <p> Projects: Be a part our family as we co-host you on your mission outreach. A safe environment where you can reach out to and identify with the poor and needy. Serving in this environment can draw your group closer together and to the Lord (and have fun too). Visiting groups stay in a community-owned apartment building located behind our main building. There are several large guys' and girls'dorm rooms with bunk beds and shower facilities. SSM's programs include emergency housing, drug rehab program, food & clothing program, children & youth programs (tutoring, day care, Sunday school, Bible clubs, boxing program, and etc.), and a 155-acre summer camp.</p> <p>The Pittsburgh Project is a neighborhood-based, Christian community development ministry that seeks to restore the city by  developing the local community, rejuvenating its residents, developing leaders for its future, serving the poor, and building the kingdom of God. Projects: We run innovative week-long urban mission trips for students. Our staff provides nightly programming, worship and music, initiative games, small group leadership, meals, and work assignments. Highlights include relational and home-repair ministry to elderly and shut-ins.
