Ray Bakke is Founder and Chairman of the Board of Associates of International Urban Association (IUA), a network of more than 100 urban-based churches and mission leaders in many of the largest cities of the world.  He pastored inner-city churches in Seattle and Chicago for 20 years, founded The Seminary Consortium for Urban Pastoral Education (SCUPE) and taught at Trinity College and McCormick Theological Seminary.  Dr. Bakke teaches urban ministry courses at Northwest Graduate School for the Ministry in its Doctor of Ministry for Transformational Leadership for the Global City program.  He is author of The Urban Christian; A Theology as Big As The City; A Biblical Word For An Urban World, and more.
 

Dr. Kenneth L (Hutch) Hutcherson, is Founder and Senior Pastor of Antioch Bible Church (3,500 members), Kirkland, WA, Author and former NFL football player (Cowboys, Chargers, Seahawks).  For the past six years Hutch has been a national leader of Adoption Reform, and reform in the Foster Care System. Dr. Hutcheron has also led the fight against same sex marriage, and special rights for differing sexual orientation. He has taken an active interest in African ministry working with church plants, hygiene education, education, orphan work, and medical assistance, in Ghana, Zambia, South Africa, Ethiopia, Yemen, Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Uganda. He has been involved in the start of a new organization Medical Relief International, which is serving in the Philippines, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Honduras doing medical and dental care.
 

John G. Miller, author of QBQ! The Question Behind the Question, and Flipping the Switch…Unleash the Power of Personal Accountability will be the keynote speaker for the evening RESCUE College graduation program on Sunday, May 28, 2006 at the AGRM Convention in Seattle, WA.  John has brought his message of personal accountability to countless groups including Wells Fargo, Boeing, U. S. Department of Defense; Verizon, and the American Cancer Society.  He has served a number of Christian nonprofits including the Denver Rescue Mission, Promise Keepers, Friends of Joni, and Care-Net (pro-life pregnancy counseling centers). He is founder of QBQ, Inc., an organizational development firm.
 


 

Dr. Earl Palmer, Senior Pastor of University Presbyterian Church, will be our Bible Teacher.  He received his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of California, Berkeley, his Master’s of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, NJ and continues to serve as a member of its Board of Trustees.  Dr. Palmer also serves on the Board of Govenors at Regent College in Vancouver, BC and on the Board of Trustees at New College Berkeley in California.  He is a noted speaker and author of such books as: A Faith That Works; Salvation by Surprise; The Book That John Wrote; Laughter in Heaven; The 24 Hour Christian and many more.

Atul Tandon, World Vision’s senior vice president of marketing and communications, will be leading Sunday morning worship . In this role since 2000, Tandon oversees the recruitment, growth and cultivation of World Vision’s 2.5 million donor relationships. In addition, Tandon serves on an international executive team that provides operational leadership to World Vision’s global partnership.

Tandon holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Delhi in India. He moved to the United States in 1992.
 

Convention Training Sessions

 Pre-Convention Super Seminars (Friday night & Saturday)

Come early to get in on these training sessions specific to Thrift Stores, Rehabilitation & Program, Education/Employment, Development, Women and Family, and Management!  Seminars are hosted by AGRM Tracks.

Intensive Seminars (4-5 sessions of in-depth training) - These single subject, focused seminars proved to be a great success at the Cleveland convention and will again be offered in 2006.  We have the following Intensive Seminars booked:

  • Non-Profit Board Governance - John Pearson, CEO, Christian Management Association /  President, John Pearson Associates (after Dec. 31)

  • Finance and Management Trends - Dan Busby, CPA, Vice President, ECFA, Washington, DC

(Intensive Seminar titles and speakers will be announced in Happenings as we get them booked.)

Single Session Seminars

Over 60 regular single session seminars will be offered covering subjects of Board Development, Fundraising, Human Resources, Management, Operations, Program, Rehab, and Public Relations.
