Receiving Clerk (Elkhorn Outreach Center)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Help organize and rotate product in the distribution center.
Maintain a close relationship with the guests who are donating products.
Maintain open communication with staff, program participants, interns and volunteers as appropriate
Maintain good atmosphere in the donation area.
Keep accurate records regarding gift in kind donations.
Maintain a clean area both in the receiving and the dumpster area
Standing for up to up to 8 hours per day and up to 5 days per week on concrete warehouse flooring.
Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. frequently and continuously.
Continuously bending and leaning around pallets and warehouse staging locations.
Operating stand-up mechanical forklift and pallet jack. Hand and finger dexterity. Continuous, fast-paced, repetitious motion of the hands, arms, shoulders, waist, and legs.
Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent
Must have a compassionate heart for the poor and hurting of our society.
Must have forklift skills, including Stand-up Forklift experience
Must have a valid driverís license
Must attend a local Evangelical church
Must have a Background in receiving
This person will have a solid, visible relationship with Christ and must clearly communicate the Gospel as opportunities during the work day arise. (1 Peter 2:21 and 1 Peter 3:15) Have a desire to serve the Lord through widely varied responsibilities to advance ministry to those currently homeless and the urban poor of Omaha with a compassionate heart.
