Men's Center Support Worker (Split Shift)

This person will have a solid, visible relationship with Christ; clearly communicate the Gospel as opportunities arise (1 Peter 2:21 and 1 Peter 3:15); be willing and able minister to those currently homeless and the urban poor of Omaha with a compassionate heart in a constantly changing environment.

In this position you will insure that the Gospel is shared with all men, responsible to oversee programs and their overall management within menís ministries, and implement the objective to equip them with the tools to be self-sufficient and independent, and implement development strategies.

Facilitate on a daily basis to provide services from outreach center to meet clients basic intake needs.

Refer clients to Case Managers and make arrangements for them with appropriate help.

Teach and train clients on health, hygiene and parenting skills with coping mechanisms.

Monitor the dispensing of medications.

Respond to emergencies using de-escalation strategies. Teach and role model the use of problem solving skills to settle disagreements and relationship issues.

Education/Training: Associate degree in human service administration or related area.

Experience/Background/Knowledge: 2 yearsí experience in social services or family support services. Spiritual training in ministries.

Skills: Counseling skills, computer skills, knowledge of multi-cultural counseling, crisis intervention training. Knowledge of chemical dependencies and rehabilitation.

Knowledge of domestic violence and mental illness treatments.
