Cairn University Hosts Global Assembly on Urban Concerns; Event Organized by President of Association of Gospel Rescue Missions
Representatives from missions serving the poor in 40 of the world’s largest cities will hold a first-ever Worldwide Forum to discuss pressing threats and emerging opportunities. Cairn University in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, will host this event being organized by the newly formed Global City Mission Network. The dates are April 22–24, 2014.
Approximately 30 rescue mission executives and young leaders from across North America will converge on Washington, D.C. to discuss and learn more about vital public policy issues facing rescue missions today, including: strong charitable giving incentives; broad conscience protections for fall faith-based organizations; postal reform; balanced federal homelessness policy; and more.
Overall, slightly fewer Persian Gulf and Afghanistan war veterans are seeking services from US rescue missions, according to a survey conducted by the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions (AGRM) in October of this year.
