Jon has been representing nonprofit tax- exempt organizations and small businesses for almost 20 years. He graduated from Grace University (B.A.), Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M.), and the University of Minnesota Law School (J.D.). Jon began his legal career as an attorney with the Washington, DC area law firm Gammon & Grange, P.C. He has served in management with Starbucks Coffee Company, Strong Financial Resources, as owner of Legal Grounds Coffee Company, board member and general counsel of Forest Springs Ministries and Camp Forest Springs. He currently provides legal counsel for numerous entities in addition to serving as Vice President and Chief Legal Officer for RootMusic, Inc.

His preferred approach is preventive law, strategy and planning, and nonprofit risk management – assisting organizations to adopt policies and procedures to minimize and avoid potential pitfalls.
