     The 2005 Workshop will be held at the Radisson Hotel at Opryland in Nashville Tennessee. It is close to all the Opryland attractions. The rate for the Hotel is $82.00 per night up to double occupancy. You need to call and  make your own reservations. The number to call is 1-615-889-0800. Be sure to tell them that you are making reservations for a room for the Association of Thrift Stores Workshop. Don’t mention the shortened  ACTS acronym or they won’t know what you are talking about.
Dr Gray says he can’t wait to try out their Jacuzzi , especially after a long day of workshop seminars. There's lots of shopping close by for the ladies and bunches of good restaurants in the area too.  The hotel is offering the Association rates for three days before and after the workshop.      I find it hard to believe it’s December already. I wanted to get the advance notice out about the upcoming ACTS Workshop to you sooner but with a hurricane and all the damage we received it has been difficult to spend much time on ACTS. However that seems to be letting up so I took a trip to Nashville to see if I could find us a place to have a workshop. I found us a really nice hotel with a great location and price to meet most of our budgets. It’s not the Opryland Hotel but the closest one to it. The Raddison across the street will be the site for our workshop. It’s almost like being there. 
     The dates for the Workshop are February 13-16, 2005. Mark your calendars now and send in your registration as this  Workshop should be better than ever. You may want to plan to come early on Saturday February 12 and visit the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday night. It will be at the Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville. There is a shuttle from the Radisson to the Auditorium. For ticket information call 1-877-9333.  
     Early Bird Registration for the Workshop this year before January 15 is $225.00. The plans are to have three general sessions and twelve break out sessions. We are also providing three breakfasts, three lunches and a Banquet Dinner  one night. You will have an opportunity for a night out on your own too.
     As usual I expect that the fellowship and networking with other thrift store managers and employees will be the highlight of the workshop. I look forward to seeing you in Nashville In February.

From cash registers, to marketing your Thrift Store, to safety issues, to new Thrift Store startup, to success stories from new Thrift Store operators, and others, as well as a couple of roundtable discussions on Auto sales and employee issues, we have scheduled a lot of good seminars over three days. We even planned a few breaks and fellowship times to get together and make new friends or to get together with old friends.
